I agree, Danny is being a dictator by telling his people who to vote for and who not to vote for. Dion was also a dictator by telling his caucus to sit on their hands or not show up.
I thought the people of NFLD were independant, hard working and had free will. If they follow Danny it shows they are just a bunch of sheep and have no minds of their own.
So far Danny has not forbid conservatives to run and keep them off the ballot, but it could be coming.
And, by asking his cabinet and caucus to declare their intentions of who they will vote for, what happened to the secret ballot. Of course they could say one thing and do another, just for spite.

Danny Williams in his latest statements to the press has seriously raised the possibility of a defamation suit for himself. He’s definitely crossed the line as he represents his province WHO ARE DEMOCRATIC CITIZENS. The blustering threats by many in this country (HRCs come to mind) are playing with fire as citizens decide for themselves what they have the right to say and will say. The ballot box belongs now especially to NFLDer Canadians who are going to benefit from the offshore oil business, despite Williams’ intent to waive appropriate tax payments. He’s crossed a line even legal terms. Bottom line, he’s talking nonsense gripped by the “greed quotient” IMO.

Information Jack. Was watching Steve Paikin’s “AGENDA” on TVOntario station. Monday night he will cover how the internet is having an impact on both elections.
ALSO, Patrick Monahan, dean, Osgoode Law School, Toronto was discussing the fixed election law and Harper’s right to go to GG. Mentioning the precedent of MacKenzie King being ousted and Meighen being put in. Mendez, also constitutional law expert, Ottawa U., according to Monahan, raises the spectre of the law allowing for any citizen’s legal objection to Harper ignoring his own law could challenge the call to the election. Left academia is certainly thinking in terms of stopping the election call. By all optics, they’re just surmising. Still it’s interesting their raising the spectre that the law could possibly interfere with a decision.

They can speculate all they want, Anna. The election will happen and if the courts dare to interfere with it they will be between a rock and a hard place.
I don’t think there’s a sane judge anywhere that would touch it.

How many times do people have to be told that an election can’t be called IF THERE IS A MAJORITY GOVERNMENT. Do Candaians really want another 12 months of listening to Dion threaten to pull the plug then disappear. If PMSH just gets another increased minority, perhaps the opposition will not play the games they have for the past 2 yrs, thinking they can do whatever they want with no consequences.
If Dion squeeks thru with a small minority, you can be sure that the conservatives have learned their lesson, and will show up to vote, and defeat the budget with the greenshaft in it.
Another election within months.
Remember the last time the ndp kept a liberal govt in power, or even back when they kept PET in power. Think of the things they forced on Canada.
