“You’re a lucky man, John McCain.” *****
Posted on 05 September 2008 by Jack
Six months ago, at the height of giddy, star-struck Obamamania in Canada and Europe, Toronto Star reporter Susan Delacourt wrote what we still regard as the single giddiest, most star-struck example of the genre.
Her article, which appeared in the Star’s March 8 edition, repeated a then-familiar theme — that even as we Canadians are thrilled to bask in Mr. Obama’s American aura, we must also flagellate ourselves for not producing a Canadian specimen of equal magnificence.
“Where’s the hope?” Ms. Delacourt wrote after contrasting Mr. Obama’s “big ambitions” to Mr. Harper’s “low expectations.”
“Where,” she plaintively asked “is Canada’s Obama?”
It’s a silly question: Canada is full of Obamas. Which is to say, we are full of high-flown social engineers with conventional left-wing opinions on policy issues. True, Stephane Dion, Michael Ignatieff, Gerard Kennedy and all the rest don’t have Mr. Obama’s charm and eloquence, nor do they harp so much on buzzwords like “change” and “hope.” But their basic left-wing message — combining big government, doctrinaire multilateralism and wealth redistribution — is more or less the same.
Indeed, a good chunk of the Liberal party, led by the likes of Senator Jerry Grafstein and think-tank guru Tom Axworthy, still explicitly worships the policy ground walked upon by Pierre Trudeau, who (disastrously, as it turned out) beat Mr. Obama to many of his punches four decades ago.
Here’s a better question for Canadians: Where’s our Sarah Palin?

“Where’s our Sarah Palin?”
She’s in Delisle Saskatchewan, breeding and showing Miniature Schnausers across North America and hosting Canada’s top conservative blog, - that’s where!

Where’s our Sarah Palin? Where’s our confident, brash, game-changing female politician taking the media by storm?
————————————————————
Canadas left wing MSM would NEVER let Palin or Right wing women
time to gain star status……. CBC, TO RED Star, G & M, CTV
would Smear and rebut any positive status of such a women.
Look what they did to Rona Ambrose for crying out loud and
she was only a Enviro. Minister, Rona was only a tiny version
of Palin.

I will second that statement Joe Molnar!
I wonder if Julie has noticed how much the big “O” and Turdo resemble(d) each other? Eerie and creepy. I HOPE the people in the USA have noticed. I would not wish that type of ‘leader’ on my worst enemy, never mind my best friends.

Jack - we got some very bad news today in the Yukon. Hon Mr. Eric Nielson, fighter Piolet (WWII) and Turdo shredder (House of Commons), died yesterday. Eric was the BEST M.P. the Yukon ever had and he was the only force (of one) that kept Turdo and his Bolshevik hoard at bay during the dark days of Red (a la turdo) rule. Eric salvaged what is left of our Property Rights the day Sharp had a budget leak.
Eric is a great Canadian hero, his death his a great loss to us but a welcome addition, I am positive, to God’s Legion of soldiers fighting for the right (good) side.
Please say a prayer for Eric, his family and Yukoners (like myself) who will miss him so much.

I’m sorry to hear that, Jema. I’ll see if I can find a story on it.

Nothing on Google. If you can find a link I would appreciate it. I remember him well.

All of us have read speeches over our lifetimes. From Churchill, Abraham Lincoln, some southern U. S. Senators…
Last night Senator McCain surpassed esteemed Palin and Lincoln himself in my opinion.
“Fight with me.” These are the “Golda Meir’s” of our time who we’ll end up “prizing” for actually standing on guard and saving our confused, sorry arses (the deniers) where western ideals can flourish again IN FREEDOM.
Sorry to hear of Neilson’s death. Rest in peace HONOURABLE CANADIAN POLITICIAN.
Jema, I can’t believe you expressed it that way. Because sometimes trying to pray for various things, I’ve heard the readying “hoofbeats” of the heavenly army assembling. Many of our ancestors and departing good ones, occupy the frontlines. They are readying. We watch for the winter solstace of the year 2012.
For the present, look to the north America (Canada) from “whence cometh thy help.” There’s a reason for all focus on the north at the moment. I’m amazed when I think about it.
Neilson claimed his victory today. There are “frontlines”, then there are “frontlines.”

Well said and thankyou Anna for saying it. Outstanding actually. I deeply envy your personal spiritual convictions.

You and your colleagues on this board, McCain and many others have ***performed*** my spiritual convictions. You understand, “shoulder to shoulder.” We’re all moving in that direction, maybe beginning now.
McCain found out “when I am weakest, THEN I AM STRONGEST.”
“Those who hunger and thirst for justice shall be satisfied.”
Let us pray for our own CSIS and related agencies — they remain awake like the Mossad while we take some rest. OUR SOLDIERS…Canadian and allies.
A two-word public prayer, “HELP THEM.”

Behind every great man there is an even greater woman.Behind Churchill there was his Clementine, behind Eisenhower there was his Mamie.
I am proud of Governor Palin. Pit bull with lipstick, a Barracuda in politics. I think we are looking at another “Maggie Thatcher”. It was Potus Reagan and PM Thatcher who were instrumental in bringing down the “Wall” and ending the cold war.

The Big O has turned into a zero.
The Us mag is losing subscribers by the hundreds and those people are going after the advertizers. Oprah will lose viewers over this. Let us all hope there is a massive revolt against our media here in Canada, as they try to elect their liberals.

Neilson claimed his victory today. There are “frontlines”, then there are “frontlines.” Eric would like that Anna, he would like it that you recognize his mission. He was a big fan of PMSH - if the Prime Minister wins a majority; Eric can pan a smile to us from his new home and we can assure him: Mission Accomplished.
I am sure he was cheering out loud for Governor Palin - and he would have appreciated John McCain’s speech more than most Canadians because he was a fighter pilot too (WW II).
Msm never liked Eric Nielson - he was in good company. I don’t trust anyone promoted by those Bolsheviks in the media. My mistrust began with the way Eric was treated by those fools.
