Sarah Palin hit by internet rumours ***
Posted on 31 August 2008 by Jack
Teams of Democratic operatives and investigative journalists descended on Alaska today to delve into the private and public life of Sarah Palin, the new and little-known Republican vice-presidential nominee, as fresh questions arose over whether she had been properly vetted by the John McCain campaign.
After the stunning and show-stealing announcement by Mr McCain on Friday that he had chosen the 44-year-old Alaskan governor as his running mate, new information emerged over allegations that she tried to use her gubernatorial office to take revenge on her former brother-in-law, part of an ethics investigation that will be released on October 31 - five days before the general election.
If Mrs Palin, a conservative mother-of-five, ever doubted that landing on a national presidential ticket would open herself to the harshest of spotlights and smear tactics, she also awoke this morning to utterly unfounded internet rumours that her fifth child born in April with Down’s Syndrome was actually her 17-year-old daughter’s.
When she made her debut speech on Friday, she immediately touted her success in killing off the infamous “Bridge to Nowhere” project that had become a nationwide symbol of wasteful, pork-barrel spending that Mr McCain has made a cornerstone of his campaign.
Note: Don’t let this story upset you. Democrats are running very scared right now and so they should. Those good old boys up in Alaska are slithering out from under their rocks and will do or say anything they can to show Sarah in a bad light. No wonder…she’s been jailing them and there are a lot of scores to even.
My view is that each time you see “garbage” (because that is what it is) like the bold text above being dragged out by her enemies resolve to support and help her. If I have it right this type of bullshit is going to backfire on the Obama team.
Point: It is going to look really good on them if things turn out that way. I never have liked snakes.
Update: Here’s a few more “dirty links” to make your day if you aren’t pissed off yet…

This is going to be revenge for the ObamaNation-type bashing. The Dems weren’t going to do it again war-hero McCain so they’ll go for the next best thing.
August 31st, 2008 at 4:52 pm
It will backfire. She just caught the “sympathy vote”.
August 31st, 2008 at 4:56 pm
What goes around comes around. Democrats have got it coming, big time.

I have never worshipped the ground that Obama slithers on. The made up “facts” about Palin will prove to be unfounded as time goes on. She has more executive experience than either McCain, Obama and Bidden combined. That is an undisputed fact. The hoped for facts that the socialists will try and sell with the help of the MSM will show them to be the disparate and spiteful people they truly are.

….and so have Canadian liberals. Pond scum, the entire lot of them, no matter which side of the border they are on or what country they live in. They all disgust me equally.

If people are wondering why the commennt count is out by one it is because I deleted a “trackback” planted by a “bot”.
I delete them all on discovery and tag them as “spam”.
August 31st, 2008 at 5:35 pm
Jack, reporting them as spam is only marginally effective since these bots frequently set up new URLs and change IP address bases often. The only way to stop them entirely is to disable trackbacks.
August 31st, 2008 at 5:39 pm
This attack will turn every parent of a handicapped child , every parent who has welcomed the child of her unwed daughter, every mother who choose birth over murder against the Big O, and just maybe a lot of those democrats running for congress and the senate.
This is the party that denied the rompings of Bill Clinton, and JFK, and elected them anyway. This is the party that allowed an unfaithful husband to try to be President, and did allow him to be a VP candidate. This is the party that has people praying for a hurricane during a convention. Never mind people will be killed, injured and evacuated. Never mind the cost of rebuilding, just need that storm to ruin a convention. But, it is turning out to be a positive for the republicans. They will have no hoopla, they will be putting americans first, they will be helping americans. Think of the headlines, Moore prays for hurricane, says there is a God.
These attacks will come back to haunt them on Nov 4.

Trackbacks disabled and thanks.

So Mary, do you admit that your support is mostly based on identity politics? Why was it only wrong when the Dems were doing it?
The result of this election is going to be disastrous, no matter who wins.
August 31st, 2008 at 6:44 pm
I think the most fun of this election campaign will be watching Cynapse turn pretzel logic into a fine art trying to justify the actions of Obama the great and the morally superior Democratic Party.
August 31st, 2008 at 6:47 pm
Rumors have been tracked back by IP address to Obama’s Team’s website.
Its Obama’s team doing the drive by smears.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:01 pm
LOL Ward. I said long ago McCain should win because a Bush supporter deserves to deal with the result of Bush’s deficit (the last thing anyone on either side wants to talk about). Blatant hypocrites, the lot of you taking the “she’s a hockey mom like us!” position with Palin after complaining Obama was selected only because of his race. Barrack the Magic Negro seals the argument - not much “pretzel logic” needed there.
Fear not, though. If Obama becomes anywhere near successful, your fellow hardcore cons in the south have already given a preview of Plan B. Traditional values will not go down without a fight!

When I see this many people going out of their minds, I think of my grandfather and one of his favourite expressions, ‘if you are taking flak than you are over the target’. The left wouldn’t be going crazy like they are if they weren’t really vexed by Palin.
The left can’t help their condescending, snide comments about Palin and many people will notice and take note. She is the most normal, likeable of the four candidates and I think many people will be attracted to her because she is not a professional politician, like most Washington pols are.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:10 pm
“I think many people will be attracted to her because she is not a professional politician, like most Washington pols are.”
Well, that’s not exactly right either.
She’s been in politics for awhile but the difference is she has a mind of her own. And she uses it.
I can’t wait for her first debate. I see a slaughter coming here as she rips Biden to pieces with a big grin on her face. He has a LONGGGGG history of verbal screwups.
I wonder if he’ll “book sick” that night?
August 31st, 2008 at 7:15 pm
Biden will not fare well in debate, agreed. McCain is the weak link on his team. The debate will be largely Obama vs Palin. Since this election is more about optics than issues, expect little more than milquetoast renditions of what you can read on the respective websites. These candidates are all towards the center (except maybe Palin) and all candidates realize this is a fight for the center.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:19 pm
I have never liked Obama, not because he is black, but because of his friends he has thrown under the bus. I think his wife is a very bigoted woman and would not be a great first lady.
I do think many american voters will vote for identity reasons, especially if the dems and media keep dissing her. Lots of voters live in small towns and states. I think that McCain has pulled off the political ploy of the campaign. Looks of disbelieve on media was priceless. He knocked O off the front pages and talk shows after his speech. Now the hurricane has taken front page news. I would love to have seen Hillory’s face when she first heard the news.
O loses and 2012 will be the Hillory team against the Palin team. That will be a real first. Bill Crystal was very happy today on foxnewssunday. He has been promoting her for months.
Iggy said today that voters like the underdog, and the media and O are making Sara the underdog.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:24 pm
Jack I know she has some experience, I wouldn’t think a candidate with no experience at all would be a good idea, but she comes across as someone who knows there is more to life than politics. Obama has been planning to run for the presidency since the early ’90’s, if I remember correctly, and everything he has done is towards this goal. Or Biden and McCain, who have spent a life time in Congress. They are not normal, they are consumed by the cut and thrust of politics.
Palin does not come across as someone who is consumed by politics, which is what I meant by ‘professional pol’. She has done other things with her life and politician is just one facet. You can tell she has a ‘hinterland’, hobbies that interest her, outside of politics and that is rare nowadays.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:30 pm
“These candidates are all towards the center (except maybe Palin) and all candidates realize this is a fight for the center.”
Call me stupid but in truth I have never been able to figure out where the “center” is.
I guess it’s where the MSM tells us it is.
Disregarding all that, common sense comes into play. Sarah has it in abundance. Biden is a “lacky” and was bought by big business years ago. Nothing he says can be believed.
Can you imagine Harper and Palin working together as a team in the years to come? I can and “for sure”…China can kiss it’s North American market goodbye if it happens.
Truth — they are history if she get’s in because both leaders despise China and what it stands for and in my view she’s the female incarnation of Stephen Harper.
The US has a real leader, finally.
And we have John McCain to thank for that.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:44 pm
Jack, Palin has rarely made a move that drilling/mining businesses in Alaska didn’t like. She is just as much a business lackey, and given the growing conflicts in the Caspian sea region (ie Georgia) that trend will continue. America’s energy independence may depend on the Palin Pipeline.
Total independence from China may be achievable for Canada, but America is currently wed to China hook or crook. Beijing holds over 1 trillion dollars in US financial instruments, including $330 billion in treasury notes. If the US ever decided to play hardball with China, it would have a hard time finding alternative buyers on that scale, and the the quality of life in the USA would drop substantially. This is the reality of the new world economy.
August 31st, 2008 at 7:48 pm
“This is the reality of the new world economy.”
I can’t argue with you. I don’t know enough “stuff”. I’m just following my instincts here. I’ll let someone else who has more knowledge take this up.
August 31st, 2008 at 8:01 pm
The economy is a moving target, Jack. Even economists get it wrong more often than not. This particular issue doesn’t require extensive economic background - The US is severely in debt to China. China says “jump” - America says “ok”. Any serious conflict will result in China refusing to purchase more debt instruments and calling in the ones it has. The sudden decrease in money supply could lead to deflation and will seriously hamper the US government’s ability to run internal country operations … to say nothing of financing all these wars.
That and the massive Saudi/Chinese/European buyout of depressed US real estate was what I was hoping this election would be about. This is more important than which stars are endorsing Obama or whether the VP likes Moosemeat burgers.
August 31st, 2008 at 8:14 pm
Did anyone catch Meet the Press today. Apparently an Obama person was asked by Tom B if he will continue to attack Sara. He said no, we will leave that up to the media, and all the talking heads shook their head yes. Story at Instapundit.
No longer can the media even pretend they are not biased.

Palin is completely inexperienced and utterly incapable.
You heard me. The initial euphoria over the idea of a naughty librarian on the TV news each night for the next 4 to 8 years has worn off. Now, it back to hard, pragmatic reality and the reality is that she has no place in Washington, DC.
Want proof? Consider the following:
Only an amateur would speak off the cuff, as she usually does. Experienced politicians avoid speaking extemporaneously whenever possible. Otherwise, the electorate might find out what they really think.
If Palin had meaningful experience, she would have known that the job of Ethics Commissioner is SUPPOSED to be corrupt, thus saving her the trouble of resigning in protest and then running for the highest office in the state.
Only an amateur would attain political office by actually defeating opposing candidates at the ballot box. An experienced politician would have eliminated opposition candidates by protesting technical glitches in their nominating petitions or petitioning to change the party rules on how votes are counted in primary elections or hiring groups like ACORN to register 14 people who all, coincidentally, have the same names and reside at the same abandoned and boarded-up restaurant. Did she not once consider taking lessons from the Chicago political machine that got Obama elected? Sheesh.
Any experienced politician knows that upon assuming high office, you are supposed to demand a larger plane; not sell the useless behemoth that was recently purchased by your predecessor.
Only an amateur would implement a comprehensive energy and conservation policy shortly after taking office. A more experienced politician would have avoided the issue outright for at least 30 years while demonizing oil companies, then banning any voting on the topic followed by a recess vacation through the next election
Any experienced politician knows that once elected, you are not supposed to spend your first 20 months in office actually doing the job you were elected to do. You should be campaigning for another office – as Obama could have told her.
Sarah Palin was only supposed to TALK about government reform and utter platitudes about exiling corrupt, entrenched politicians – not actually do anything about it. She demonstrated her naivete by creating a smooth running government that included representatives of other political parties, thereby making it impossible for her to find a scapegoat if anything goes wrong.
Only a political greenhorn would thumb their nose at the environmental lobby by hunting and actually shooting moose and caribou. Worse yet, she foolishly told the truth: the proposed oil drilling site in ANWR is NOT the secret location of Eden but is, in fact, a barren wasteland.
What Sarah Palin does not seem to understand is that here in the 21st century, chief executives do not negotiate beneficial business deals for their states with foreign nations or take time to actually hang out with soldiers in Iraq. That time is better spent preening for the cameras in Berlin – something else a more seasoned and experienced politician such as Obama could have told her.
Holding oil companies accountable and successfully negotiating mutually productive agreements with them proves she does not understand their true purpose: if you work with them to the benefit of your state, you will no longer have a faceless villain to scare people into voting for you.
By creating new jobs instead of demonizing capitalism, Sarah foolishly enabled people to become more reliant on themselves and less reliant on government, hereby diminishing the dependant voter base – a classic newbie mistake. After all, if people have jobs, they will not have much need for the government and will be too busy enjoying their lives to protest the U.S., its corporations and, of course, opposing candidates.
Worse yet, Palin created a budget surplus and mailed it back to the taxpayers. Doesn’t she know that if the government generates a surplus, it’s doing something wrong? An experienced leader like Obama or Biden knows that taxpayer money belongs to the government – not to the people.
In another rankly amateurish move, she cooperated completely with government officials investigating accusations made against her. Experienced politicians know that you are supposed to stonewall, obfuscate, pressure libraries to expunge any record of unsavory political associations and ship potential witnesses off to Caribbean islands – another good reason not to sell the executive jet.
Yup, she is hopelessly inexperienced.
That is why I ♥ SARAH’CUDA and why I am voting McCain/Palin ‘08

Ok, so now Obama IS an experienced politician, or so says Ed.
Ward’s term -pretzel logic- is proving rather use.

Even our media is on the ‘attack’ against Sarah Palin. CNews -canoe- ran a headline the other day “McCain picks ex-beauty queen…” The thing is, the story does not mention anything about her beauty pageant days, just what she has accomplished to date. So those b@$&%*#$ dragged up her pageant days from 24 years ago and posted that headline.

I have only three things to say about this Sarah Palin woman for Vice President.
And I’ll say it in my best Quagmire voice: Giga-dee,Giga-dee,Giga-dee!!!!!!!!!!
