Linda: Morgentaler to get Order of Canada ***

OTTAWA, June 29, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - LifeSiteNews has received confirmation through various sources that the Order of Canada Advisory Council has indeed voted to award the Order of Canada to notorious abortionist and militant atheist Henry Morgentaler today or tomorrow. There is reported to be a movement among Members of Parliament and others to attempt to stop the award or at least protest it as being inappropriate and against the opinion of a majority of Canadians.
In an article in the National Post today, columnist Douglas Farrow reports that “The decision, which is to be announced in time for Canada Day, is clearly not driven by popular demand. For example, an online poll by the Globe and Mail, with over 300,000 respondents, went 92% to 8% against giving the award to Morgentaler.
“The public and leaders of various organizations opposed to the granting of the Order of Canada to Morgentaler seem to have been deliberately blind-sided by this sudden development over Canada’s major annual holiday weekend when most are pre-occupied by family and community activities. Nevertheless, pro-life organizations are scrambling to get as many people as possible to inundate the Governor General, the Prime Minister and Canada’s MPs with emails and telephone calls protesting the decision.

I just spoke to one of the Prime Minister’s assistants. She indicated that the Governor General’s office is the correct office to contact on this issue, but took note of of my request that the Prime Minister and his government denounce this attempt to honor abortion as a “Canadian value”. Note: People should not get all bent out of shape on this issue. It has long been known that the Order of Canada is a political tool used by our “elite” to make themselves look good and has no more meaning than one of those cheap prizes you find in a box of “Cracker Jack” popcorn. I have often said I would never accept it and I mean it because I know what’s really going on.
This situation just proves my point.

Well as far as Morgentaler’s concerned, he could never know enough Liberal mothers to suit me.
But you wonder how they pick them out don’t you? Do you suppose maybe he’s getting the the big reward simply because he’s got a couple of lines and his telephone number in the governor general’s little note book? Or maybe his nominee is the great liberal Senator Francis Fox (all bow, scrape and doff your hat)
Anyway, I like the idea of him having it myself. It look’s good on the other boneheads who’ve lined up panting for the thing.

So Morgentaler is about to be crowned as our latest ‘Canadian’ hero and role model huh? Here’s some food for thought.
So far this year approximately 50,000 babies have been aborted in Canada. To put this figure into perspective, the seating capacity of the Toronto Sky Dome (in the stands only) is approximately 54,000. So the next time you watch a Toronto Argonauts home game, multiply the fans in attendance (5,000 X 10) and that’s the number of Canadians who could have been but weren’t because……because….well, because we can. Granted a small percentage of the abortions were medically necessary or as a result of rape. But the vast majority of them weren’t. Yup, I confess. I’m pro-life and damn proud of it.
Here’s an interesting website. Note the following question on this site but more particularily the oh-so politically correct answer.
“Why are there so few newborns available?
Many reasons: While the pool of adoptive parents has steadily grown, partly because couples are starting their families later in life, the number of birth mothers has shrunk, partly because of the growing acceptance of single parenthood and our generous social programs.”
Notice there is no mention that the +100,000 babies that are aborted every single year in this country alone don’t exactly help these potentially loving adults become bonifide parents anytime soon does it? I personally know 2 single mothers who although determined to be highly qualified to adopt, had to adopt children from Africa because the waiting line in Canada was way too long. According to the Liberals and their socialist co-conspirators and accomplices Canada must increase its immigration quotas significantly to suppliment the low birth rate in this country. There is a viable alternative, a home grown one at that. Stop the unecessary killing. Morgentaler’s a hero alright. Nuff said.

I was in a deep conundrum sometime ago, Irv as I was awarded the “Police Exemplary Service Medal”. It took perhaps…I don’t know…the better part of two years…for my “New Chief” to convince me to accept it.
My problem was that I had done nothing “exemplary” (in my view) and I saw a lot of people that I felt did not deserve it walking away chuckling and feeling real full of themselves.
I guess I was on the wrong team but finally “Chris” convinced me under the proviso that I would accept it only from his hands. That happened the day that the old police service switched to the OPP and he presented it to me in front of the OPP Commissioner as he told her the story.
Truth be told, I have four “baubles” and will never wear them. “Court Mounted” and all. I may put them in a picture frame someday for my family. I don’t have much use for them because our “elite” has destroyed their meaning. When our superiors (as epitomized by Chretien) get to decide who get’s what there’s not much left to think about and the award has no value in my view.
They are “popcorn stuff” and I know when I’m being “used”.

Jack you’re experience and achievement hits it right on the head and that’s what so damned irritating about this.
We both know that there are people who have this award who have made enormous contributions and to see them diddled like this leaves me sick.
And I’ll bet you ten bucks that the each one of the deserving ones feels exactly as you do, that he doesn’t deserve it. And I can go to that list of recipients and name a lot them out.
But cheepen it as they like, as you recognize, your family will know the real story and how you feel about it and they will likely frame your awards up themselves and you will have established a firm foundation of example that will support many tall buildings in the future.
This website alone will be no small part of that.

Morgentalers been around for a long time. Any special reason the left leaning OAC Advisory Committee could not have awarded this to Morgentaler while a Lib government was in power?
It appears to me the only reason to do this and to do it in such a fashion as to cause as much furor as possible, is to put the abortion issue on the front burner nationally.
Libs are getting zero traction out of anything else they try, so they are going to try (with the help of the GG and Advisory Committee) to bring back the old tried and true “abortion issue”, and use their freinds in the media to try to drape it around the Conservative necks.

The Liberals are working hard for the urban female vote - this is part of the plan.
Remember, ladies, that the Liberals are using this kind of appeal to you because they believe you vote with your hearts, and not with your heads - that they can win your vote by pulling at your heartstrings rather than appealing to your intellect. While they try to tell you that you are equal, they insult you.
Liberals, take note of this: every child aborted is one less future Liberal voter. Maybe it would be smarter to let them live?

Me too Jack. Turned mine down for consequtive years telling them I would never wear it as long as some of the slugs I knew were wearing theirs. They said is was engraved and everything. Wuppee shit! Told them to mail it to me. They wouldn’t, so they can keep it. It means dick all to me and I laugh at those who prance around wearing their’s likes it’s the equivalent of the Victory Cross. I know far too many cops who were so deserving of high recognitioin and because they didn’t kiss the right ass, got nothing.

My most cherished momento from my 28 yrs service is a large framed painting of an RCMP officer in red serge saluting with the motto ‘Maintain the Right’. This was presented to me by my co-workers when I retired and I cherish this more than anything else. Medals…..no big deal most times.

Sorry, lads… I disagree with Jack and beentheredonethat about medals, but not for the reason you might think. While you might not recognize the value of those medals, your heirs and descendants will. My great great grandfather was awarded a medal of service to the Empire and it’s a cherished family heirloom. Do your kids and grandkids a favour: grab your medals, mount ‘em up with a picture of yourself and pass it to the future.

Indeed, the Order of Canada has become a joke for many years. It is handed out like Halloween candy to the rich and famous. And when a buffoon like the shameless glory seeking “medal detector” Dave Thomson can be “recommended” by eBay and misinformed members of the general public for this little bauble, it becomes a bigger joke!

I have just spent 2 earth hours along with everyone else in this town. No, we are not being green, power failure. When it come back on the cbc was doing an interview with some Morgenthaler supporter, praiseing the honor he is finally getting. Talk about double speak, she said it was terrible the death threats, attacks etc this man has endured. No one in Canada should have to put up with that etc. She made no mention of the fact she was defending a man who has killed and been responsible for the deaths of thousands. Why is his life so important. In other cultures that murder is called genicide. And we get upset when a muslim kills his daughter or wife in honor killings. Wonder what the reaction would be if canadians started to refer to abortions as honor killings.
All those protestors fighting for the right of mothers to kill their children. But whatever you do, don’t threaten the man responsible for all those deaths, his life is important. This should be a non story, or a very sad story, to think that we have allowed this in our country. Shame on all of us.

This was a piece of red meat thrown into the cage of the conservatives within the population for them to snarl over while the greed shaft plan circle the bowl.
I’ve been reflecting on this over the past couple of days, and think the smart move for all conservatives is to ignore the story. Make it a non-issue. Refuse the bait.
Let the baby-haters deal with their maker themselves.
In the meantime, I look proudly upon the three fine young people I and my wife have brought into this world, fed, educated, nurtured, guided, advised, supported, held, hugged, changed their diapers, toiled for, and tucked into their beds at night. No finer people would you ever want to meet.
Let the baby-haters give Henry his tin trinket, and let him wander off into obscurity. This will be over as soon as we want it to be.
