Fuschi: An Unassailable Legacy

Posted on 30 June 2008 by Jack

Jean Chretien has again intruded onto the public radar, this time, to save his legacy. He should beware what he wishes for. In typical fashion he has presumed to be ”vindicated” from judge Gomery’s implied accusations - that he was asleep at the controls.

Recall how Chretien’s government was elected. He clearly lied to Canadians that the GST was “a dead duck” if they gave him the mandate. When confronted with his subsequent inaction, he lied about having made the promise. Then when he managed a minor harmonization with the Maritimes, claimed that this pathetic improvement was the grand achievement he had promised. The overt presumption of the stupidity of Canadians is on display again. After Justice Teitelbaum intimated that judge Gomery was having too much fun with his inquest, Chretien has felt free to extrapolate that to a redemption of his legacy. I agree, Mr. Chretien’s legacy of flim-flam is intact!

His one greatest, and only accomplishment was the art of bringing out the worst in Canadians, to his electoral benefit. Chretien was happy to feed  the multicultural beast, without ever discriminating against its violent factions, for fear it was worth a few votes. He relied on the divides which separated ghetto Canadians, and the need for tribal defense which they sought against historic rifts. And, he was happy to protect those divides and that dependence, with taxpayers’ money.

He was equally happy using those taxes to spread institutional dependency. Expensive projects of dubious value - like the gun registry - were designed to provide the illusion of action to ensnare the gullible, while creating large, new bureaucracies which were indebted to the Liberal master. The enormous waste discovered in a cursory investigation of the HRDC, only hinted at the depth of taxpayer abuse.

Regardless of how hard he tries, he will never be vindicated in the court of public opinion, same as PET will never be forgiven.
So, a judge wrote some words on a piece of paper, big deal.
The more JC rants and raves, the more examples of his lies and misuse of taxpayers money will be brought back to the public domain. Does he really want that. Dion will pay the price by breaking Kim’s record of seats won.

Mary T, As long as the MSM are around, Chretien, PAUL MARTIN AND DION can do as they please knowing that their MSM are there to protect them from us ‘evil people’ who want their money back.

Chretien’s legacy of criminal corruption, lies, deceit, incompetence, malfeasance…. borders on treason. Did he hate Canada or what? He certainly didn’t do anything to improve the country during his decade in power, all he did was use his power over people just for the sake of it, because he is a petty man.

  5. Jack Says:

    “Did he hate Canada”

He didn’t “hate” Canada philanthropist. He just saw a country of fools that weren’t paying attention and a chance for riches.

You see, Canadians believed in the Liberal dream until Harper came along and showed everyone what a real government looked like.

As “Jock McBile” and Dalton Camp said so well…”He (Chretien) looked like the driver of the getaway car”.

    Indeed.

I know a great deal about the costs of building enterprise-level applications. The Gun Registry is a glorified enterprise-level database application. An outrageous, I mean, way, way over the top amount to spend on an application of that scope is $20 million, all in. 2 billion??? It’s beyond absurd!

I’ve been trying to get people to understand the scale of the rip-off ever since the story broke in 2002. I had just moved back to Canada at the time, and my jaw hit the floor when the figures began leaking out. Canada had been turned into a two-bit banana republic while I lived abroad. Disgusting, and disheartening. What a great welcome to Canada my children received. I can tell you that not one of them will ever vote Liberal, not even for dog-catcher, for as long they live.

Billions, and billions of our hard earned money, squandered, and stolen. Not a shred, not a scintilla, not a hint, not a crumb of contrition from them. Quite a legacy, indeed.

I’m laughing, LG. Many years ago now someobody went around to all the police services (at least in Ontario) and sold them a bill of goods along with a cheap computer hooked to a phoneline.

What it did was permit the cops (with permission) to put out an “orange alert” in any neighbourhood in the community if they wanted people to know something. A taped message was sent to the nunber called and the list was long at least in my community.

Trouble was it didn’t work so well and when we tried to contact the “seller” for support…he was gone. The computer broke down. There were no backup disks and it all ended up in the garbage.

My best understanding is that the agent got his hands on an early telemarketing program and revised it (it was pure DOS). Not a bad idea and it could have made him many millions but he didn’t hang in and everyone lost.

Although the program is now history the idea is not and I think it can still be revised.

But not for billions…about $100K should cover it and if it works the government should make it free to every community in the country through a simple download and install (with all the legal forms attached).

At the time it was a huge project and students spent all summer one year running around signing people up. In my view there was no need for it and it took me a few years to catch onto what had happened.

    Nothing has changed, has it?

Unless you know about computers you are going to be “had” by somebody.

    It’s a “given”.

  8. Rick Fuschi Says:

Those who remember the Chretien clawhold, unleashed on an unsuspecting demonstrator on the steps of parliament, will remember the twisted countenance of the PM. It exhibited a primordial anger for demonstrably very little. Chretien acted as if he owned Canada, and always showed vindictive anger at those who did not fit his grand plan. Ask the Development Bank manager who refused further funding to Chretien’s Grand-Mere golf partners. He had no respect for Canadians because they were so easy to lie to, and after they continued to re-elect him, he became downright contemptuous of them. His golf ball farce was a finger in our eyes, not Gomery’s.
